The British contingent included 19 athletes, two coaches and one sports therapist competing in the women’s small boat and small boat mixed categories. The hotel's head chef, Darren Campbell, prepared a feast which the team enjoyed in the recently re-opened rooftop Carpathia restaurant against the backdrop of the city’s waterfront. The team spent the evening at the newly acquired 30 James Street Hotel for a final squad dinner before they set off for the International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships in Thailand which takes place between August 8 and 13. Team GB's Premier Dragon Boat Squad spent the evening in Liverpool ahead of a huge Championship competition in Thailand.
